Our Experience
In 2001, Ransom Construction was started by two (2) brothers, Steve and Jeffery Ransom. Ransom Construction became a Corporation in early 2003. In mid-November of 2003, Ransom Construction Inc. was awarded a contract with Balfour Beatty Communities at Fort Carson for the renovation of family housing. The contract included four hundred thirty (430) units to be completed by December of 2004. The company grew from four (4) employees to fourteen (14) overnight, and completed the contract with many accolades from Balfour Beatty Communities for efficiency, timeliness, professionalism, and workmanship.
This, in turn, led to other jobs through Balfour Beatty Communities from carpentry to becoming the general contractor for other family housing projects including conversion of military housing to ADA/UFAS standards which included living quarters along with a complete home and remodel for Officer's quarters. In addition, Ransom Construction, Inc. was contracted by DPW to refurbish buildings on Fort Carson. The contract included wall partitions, eye wash stations, and acoustical ceilings and replacing awnings.
In 2007, Ransom Construction, Inc. was selected as the general contractor through Balfour Beatty Communities on Altus Air Force Base in Oklahoma. This project includes building additions to and refurbishing the interiors of military housing for up to three hundred forty-eight (348) units, was completed at the end of February 2008. Phase two, which consisted of eighty-six (86) units, was started at the beginning of March 2008. The second phase of this project included the same scope of work as phase one, and was completed by February of 2009.
In the latter part of 2007, Ransom Construction Inc. was also awarded the Air Force Academy project through SunStar LLC and began working on this project in March of 2008. The total of units for this project consisted of two hundred ninety-nine (299), completed in March of 2010. The scope of work on the Air Force Academy project was for the complete exterior renovations to including installing house wrap, trim, siding, shutters, and gutters on each housing unit.
Ransom Construction Inc. has completed multiple construction firms on Fort Carson and other military affiliations throughout the South Western Region.
In November 2008, Ransom Construction was selected as the general contractor through Balfour Beatty Communities at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, TX. This project included refurbishing the interiors of military housing with a total of 223 Minors and 244 Intermediate Units. This project was completed in November 2011. The scope of work on the Sheppard Air Force Base military housing project was to provide new interior paint, new flooring, inspect doors and test HVAC systems, replace existing cabinets, install new countertops, remodel existing bathrooms, provide new cultured marble tops in bathrooms, replace door slabs throughout, new wood trim in all bathrooms, insulate waterlines in attic, install new ceiling and energy efficient lights throughout install energy efficient appliances, provide cable and phone connections, provide new blinds and new interior paint.
In July of 2010, Ransom Construction was awarded the general contractor position through Balfour Beatty at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, OK for intermediate military housing refurbish. This project is broken down into 9 phases and were completed in June of 2014. The scope of work on this project is similar to our Altus Air Force Base and Sheppard Air Force Base projects with additions to the master and dining area. This project not only requires extensive interior work but extensive exterior work which includes siding, roofing and custom tornado shelters.
Since finishing the large multi-unit project in Oklahoma, Ransom Construction has completed a brick pointing job located at Warren AFB in Wyoming, decking/steel truss system on an Air Flight Simulator in Wyoming, and a Dairy Queen complete interior and exterior remodel, along with an addition, in Fountain, Colorado.
